Shawn Henley, Educational Mentor

Shawn Henley has been a Mentor with Connections since 2004.  Shawn provides individualized instructional and behavioral support services to youth in area high schools. Shawn facilitates opportunities for these students to become fully physically and socially included into their school communities by designing and implementing instructional plans to teach them better communication and coping skills. Prior to joining Connections, Shawn’s professional experience had been in providing informal counseling and mentoring services to children and teens with serious emotional issues in a secure treatment center.  Shawn is a passionate advocate for youth with significant disabilities to become socially included in all environments and is committed to educating all students about their unique needs, special gifts, and the benefits of friendships with the youth he supports.
